I came up with the recipe based on the few groceries we had in the cupboard. We just moved, so there wasn’t much in there, but it came out great!
Turkey Pot Pie
Marie Callender's pie crust (It comes in a two pack)
¼ cup onion
¼ cup celery
1 tbsp butter
½ can mixed veggies
½ can green beans
2-3 cups chopped up left over turkey
½ cup chicken broth
¼ cup or more of milk or cream
½ can cream of mushroom soup
Salt and Pepper
Tony Chachere's Creole Original Seasoning
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Take frozen crust out of freezer and remove from package. Let thaw while you prepare the filling. Use only Marie Callender's frozen pie crust. It is THE best.
Sauté finely chopped celery and onion in a little butter until tender. Add salt and pepper and Tony’s.
Combine the sautéed mixture and the remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
Pour ingredients into pie crust. Flip the other crust on top and release from tin.
Using your fingers crimp the edges of the crust together. Don't worry if it's not perfect. I think rustic looks better anyway. Cut a slit in the top and place the potpie on a cookie sheet.
Bake until golden brown. (about 35 minutes) If the edges get too brown place foil on top leaving the center exposed.
Until next time, happy cooking!!!
